Content Mgmt Sample Sites & VBScript runtime error

When trying to access either of the sample sites (FpSample or CmSample)I always get the following error, Microsoft VBScript runtime error '800a000d'

Type mismatch: '[string: "Unknown"]'

/SiteServer/Publishing/upload.inc, line 22

Any ideas greatly appreciated.
