just curious -- what exactly is broke in the demo version? I haven't seen any problems with it. We actually use the eval version for the Site Server training course and it works fine for all of the course labs.
I've had the eval version of Site Server work just fine searching Exchange 5.5 public folders (Exchange and Site were on the same computer).
