I ran a series of about 200 reports across two databases and noticed that every so often a query would take considerably longer than expected. A query normally taking 30 seconds took 14 HOURS!!!!!! and a query normally taking 2 minutes took 10 HOURS!!!!!! I'm the only one accessing the MS SQL server, these are the only two databases, the reports were run in sequence so only one was being run at a time, and the database isn't running any extra tasks (i.e. backup).
Any ideas?
