The features in Site Server 3.0 demo version do not function correctly. The system is designed to integrate into any existing Microsoft product. If you are getting a URL error, verify that the Site server software is in fact searching the Exchange folder monitoring it during the crawl.
In all honesty, I would recommend upgrading to the full version of Site Server and then trying again.
