I have seen this problem before. The Enterprise packages of Microsoft's products don't have the service packs or support that the standard versions do. Microsoft sells the enterprise pieces but in reality develops for the standard versions.

In order to run the full Site Server 3.0 commerce package, you will need to install SQL Server 6.5 with service pack 4. Service pack 4 will not install into the Enterprise version of SQL. That version installs as SQL 6.5 with SP3.

I have also noted that if you are running the enterprise version of NT Server (regardless of the service packs installed) that the Site Server software will constantly freeze or services will stop running and fail to restart. If you are going to use the product, stay away from the enterprise versions of Microsoft's software.

Microsoft support says that service packs are due out for their enterprise software but they don't know when.
